Our mission at Homeschool Connections is to support, encourage and advise you, our homeschooling parents, as you educate your children; to provide a variety of innovative and quality educational opportunities; to help prepare students for their future; to have a profound impact on the educational society.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Classes are each $175 – $35 discount per class if paid by Sept 30th/Fall or Jan 31st/Winter
  • Lunch fees ($15) for everyone, whether a parent is there or not. The only exception is for lunch helpers. If interested, contact info@mihomeschoolconnections.com. District funding does not pay for lunch.
  • Study Hall ($65/hr/semester) only 1 study hall per student in a day. District funding does not pay for these.
  • Change fee ($50) for dropped classes between August 27 and September 14, 2019. Please be careful when doing this as it changes our numbers in classes and is the reason for canceled classes.
  • During the 2nd week, you will be charged for half the class. After that, you will be responsible for full payment for any dropped class.
    • There is no fee to add classes, but this must be done by the end of the first week of classes.
    • Remember, Districts and Homeschool Connections do not have the same policies and deadlines, so verify with each party.
  • Late pick up fee ($1 per minute per child after 3:45)
  • If you are a part of a district funding program, you need to speak directly with them to ensure you know your obligations for funding approval.
    • Make sure you send them a list of your student’s enrolled classes.
    • Be sure to verify your funding type (using each student login) in Orbund. We cannot verify your compliance for district funding unless this is listed accurately in Orbund.
    • Please contact the district directly if you have additional district-funding questions.

Participation Expectations

On Campus!

  • Arrive early to be on time! Plan to arrive 10 minutes before your child’s first class of the day.
  • All students are required to sign in and out each day.
  • All students must be able to function independently, both academically and behaviorally in a classroom.
  • Dress Code – No inappropriate or offensive attire or images may be worn on campus property.
  • Electronic Policy: no phones, computers, iPads, or shared technology allowed during classes or lunch.
  • Stay on Campus!
    • Students MAY NOT leave classrooms or campus during the day without written parental consent. Click here to download the permission form for driving teens to leave campus for lunch.
    • Students may not take another student off-campus unless they drove there with them.
  • Missing Classes
    • Calendar: View our online calendar to see class dates at www.mihomeschoolconnections.com/calendar
    • Snow Days: If the district where your campus is located is closed, that HC campus is closed. Homeschool Connections will announce on news stations. The first snow day of the semester is not made-up. Subsequent snow days will be added to the calendar.

    • Absences
      • Please contact your campus supervisor to notify them of student absences (contact information is included in each weekly newsletter).
      • Contact your student’s teacher through Orbund to obtain missed assignments.
  • Lunch: Students bring a sack lunch and enjoy picnic-style lunch together from 12:00-12:25 at each campus.
  • Talk to campus supervisors about any issues you have with your children, family issues, medical issues, allergies, behavioral issues, etc.
  • Email teachers with questions and concerns, please do not take class time from them during school.
  • Parents are not permitted in classrooms during class time.

Online!

  • Student login information to Orbund (our online Student Information System) will be sent to the parent email provided the week before classes begin.
    • Sign in and complete the Policy and Enrollment Agreements.

  • Email Communication to Parents
    • Weekly communication is sent by email. Please commit to checking your email regularly and be sure you have provided the address you frequently use.
  • Homework Assignments posted in Orbund
    • Students must log in to Orbund weekly to get homework assigned.
    • MS/HS students who do not complete homework will be removed from class until work is made up.
  • Fast Five Weekly Assignments
    • All students must complete the weekly, online review questions for their classes.
    • For those enrolled with a district for funding, failure to do so will result in the loss of the entirety of funding for that student.
