You can collect homework assignments through the Parent Portal.

Every parent will be given a log in to the Parent Portal. In the portal, you can view your child’s schedule, grades, assignments and attendence. From here, you can also email the teacher, check your balance due and much more.

This depends on the class your child is taking. Generally, children in grades 1-3 will not have homework for any class. Grade 4-6 may have optional enrichment at-home projects, while most 8-12 classes do have required homework.

While some of our parents choose to coordinate field trips and facilitate other social activities, there is no requirement to volunteer in our program.

Parents are free to remain on campus while their children are in class or they may spend their time off campus.

No. There is no partnership or operating agreement between Homeschool Connections and the SOARCE (Madison Heights School District) program.

Homeschool Connections is one of many SOARCE approved vendors.

YES! Homeschool Connections was founded as a private organization in 2002 and remains a private organization today. While some families choose to participate in the SOARCE program, many do not. The choice is up to you.

Our main focus is providing high-quality, hands-on classes for homeschoolers.

Absolutely not! We encourage each family to choose what fits their needs best. For some, that means enrolling in the SOARCE program while others do not.

NO! Homeschool Connections is a private organization and not required to submit or comply with Michigan education requirements.

Our curriculum is carefully chosen based on the quality of education it provides, along with recommendations from our teachers and homeschool parents.

S.O.A.R.C.E (Students learning Online with Academic Resources and Community Enrichment) is a program through the Madison Heights School District.

Through this program, the Madison Heights School District will pay for some of your classes at Homeschool Connections and other community resource clases.

We accept cash, checks and credit cards. We also accept SOARCE credits from families participating in that program.

We do not want finances to be a barrier for anyone and will gladly assist in making a payment plan. Please contact accounting@mihomeschoolconnections.com for more information.

We take suggestions from our teachers and feedback from parents into consideration. The curriculum at Homeschool Connections must meet our standards of quality and must be relevant and engaging.

Our fall semester is typically 13 weeks long, with a break for Thanksgiving and ending before Christmas.

Our winter semester is typically 14 weeks long, with a winter break in February and Easter break in the spring. The winter semester normally concludes in May.
