Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Lisa Taddiken. I am a mother of three children who were educated at home from first grade through the completion of high school. My son successfully went on to obtain an M.S. in Mathematics, my oldest daughter holds a B.A. at Oakland University, and my youngest is currently a graduate student.
Before having my own children, I was a 4H Leader and started several special interest clubs during my ongoing years of service in Oakland County. In 1995 I was invited to participate in the organization and vision of the third “Home Team” in Oxford, MI. The co-op transitioned into Thomas Prep Academy in later years, offering more rigorous course work to prepare students for upper level high school and college. During those years I developed curriculum and instructed a variety of classes from preschool through high school.
Having taught for many years in a variety of environments, I understand the needs of children and homeschool families. Not only am I passionate about education, I also have the background necessary to confidently orchestrate classroom studies and activities that provide engaging and enriching experiences for students of all ages.
It is an honor and a blessing to have been chosen to teach at Homeschool Connections and I am looking forward to this Winter semester.
